BUFFALO PATCH® 411B is an all-purpose Silicon Carbide base cement recommended for attaching crucible pouring spouts, general crucible repair, and maintenance of crucibles and crucible furnaces. It is also recommended as a mortar for laying SiC brick and shapes and as a "Brush On" coating refractory. | |||||||

Mix until the mortar is uniform. Total mixing time should not exceed five minutes. For best results, allow mixed mortar to age for four hours prior to using, then re-mix until the mortar is uniform. Total mixing time should not exceed three minutes. CAUTION The following will adversely affect the density, strength and setting properties of Buffalo Patch Mortars: • Dirty and/or hot water • Cement contamination • Excessive water • Dirty mixing equipment Curing Time: Buffalo Patch contains a sodium silicate binder. As a result, curing time and rate are not as critical as some other products. Normal curing procedure should allow for initial warm room temperature drying of 24 hours, then gradual increased temperature. Cold temperatures will retard the setting process. Never heat at a rate that will produce steam.
